Hello. I have a client visiting Disney World on Feb 21, 22, and 23. They need help planning what parks to visit and rides to go on. It is a family of 4 with 2 kids ages 7 and 9. Could you provide me with a recommended itinerary?

Hiya, Kathy! I'm so glad you found the trail of pixie dust that Tinker Bell left for you and followed it here to planDisney.

Oh boy! Your client is lucky to have you help them plan their trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth! I'm happy to help them plan a trip that's practically perfect in every way. In order to give an itinerary, I would love to know their interests. Are they thrill-seekers? Lightsaber-wielding Jedi? A little princess in the mix? No matter their interests, I'd love to share my personal priority of parks for kids:
    • Magic Kingdom Park. A visit to Cinderella Castle is a must! I'd recommend getting in line for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train first thing in the morning since these lines can get long. Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin is a family favorite of ours! This park is great for all the classic rides, too: think Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, and "it's a small world." Make sure to grab a snack, like the Bacon Macaroni & Cheese Hot Dog from The Friar's Nook!
    • Disney's Hollywood Studios. For young Padawans who love Star Wars, head to Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance as soon as you get to the park! Follow it up with some galactic grub from Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo or comfort food from Woody's Lunch Box. Our family's new favorite is the delightful Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway. For kids who love their pals Buzz and Woody, challenge each other to a round on Toy Story Mania!
    • Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. For the adventurers, hop on Avatar Flight of Passage. Yep, you guessed it - head here first thing! Animal lovers will have a blast spotting their favorite animals on Kilimanjaro Safaris. Stop by Satu'li Canteen for lunch and grab the Blueberry Cream Cheese Mousse for dessert - trust me!
    • EPCOT. For the princess-obsessed, head to Frozen Ever After. For the thrill-seekers, go for Test Track. Make sure to hop on Soarin' Around the World. Snack your way around the Festival of the Arts!
Here are some of my best tips:
    • Make Theme Park Reservations. This will ensure that you're able to visit your desired parks on each day of your trip.
    • Download and explore the My Disney Experience app. This is a little like holding a magic wand in your hand! You can check wait times for attractions and even mobile order food. This is a great way to make sure your meal is ready before you feel a rumbly in your tumbly!
    • Arrive right as the park opens! This is called "rope drop." Be at the bus stop with plenty of time to make it to the park opening. You'll be able to ride your favorite attractions with lower wait times before the afternoon crowds!
    • Add kid-focused plans. Making sure that both kids are able to choose rides, attractions, and experiences that they're excited about is a great way to keep the magic flowing!
    • Make time for breaks. It can be tempting to try to "do it all" when visiting Walt Disney World Resort, but even Sleeping Beauty needs her rest! You could get to the parks early, return to your hotel for a nap or swim break, then head back out in time for fireworks!
Kathy, there is so much to see and do, but there is really only one MUST-do and that's to spend quality time together. Here's a little secret: magic multiplies when it's shared and your client is sure to have a truly memorable vacation!

    Your Fairy Godmother in Planning,
    Michelle
