    Will there be Christmas Eve church service at any of the Disney resorts this year? (2024)

    Hey there Melissa, and a warm Canadian welcome to you here at planDisney!

    With the rain and chilly weather this week up in Newfoundland, it's nice to look ahead to your trip down to sunny Florida to visit Walt Disney World Resort over the holidays! Growing up in Canada myself, it was one of those family traditions where we'd head off to church on Christmas Eve and there are definitely folks and families who still want this opportunity despite being in vacation-mode while they're down here!

    • In recent years, Christmas Eve Religious Services have typically taken place at Disney's Contemporary Resort, but these don't tend to be announced very far ahead of time nor officially posted anywhere to see online. If it helps you get an idea of what you might be able to expect, a Catholic Mass took place in the Fantasia Ballroom at Disney's Contemporary Resort Convention Center at 5:00 P.M. with dedicated Religious services shuttle buses running from Magic Kingdom Park starting from 4:00 P.M. - though many folks also prefer to trek over via the pathways and reserve the seating on the shuttle for those who required the extra accessibility.
    • I took the opportunity to stop by and ask the Cast Members at the Front Desk, but they were not able to confirm whether this would be the same once again this year and instead suggested checking back for posted signage in the lobbies of the Disney Resort Hotels in the days leading up for any confirmed updates to where and how you can attend. They did however also strongly encourage the use of Resort Transportation to get to and from the services as Parking and Security Cast Members have been observed to be very restrictive on allowing access only to guests staying there or with a dining reservation that they could look up and confirm.

    There's always a chance that they could switch things up this year as offerings are always subject to change without prior notice, so be sure to keep an eye out or ask the Cast Members as you check in if they've received any confirmed details by the time you've arrived. While you're at Disney's Contemporary Resort, don't forget to make a stop to check out the massive gingerbread castle display designed by Walt Disney Imagineers covered in twinkling lights (that call back to the Dream Lights that used to adorn Cinderella Castle over the holidays in years past) up on the 4th floor!
