    How do you get chosen to do the opening for mk on the train prior to opening? Thanks

    Hi James,

    The family of the day is selected each morning from the guests arriving at Magic Kingdom. This lucky family then has a chance to meet the Mayor of Main Street, visit with a number of Disney pals including Mickey himself, and of course ride the train to the entrance to assist in the park's opening ceremony.

    There is no special line or secret word to be selected for this honor. It simply comes down to a good sprinkling of pixie dust and luck. The Cast Members are always on the look for families having a good time and enjoying their Disney vacation. The selected family is chosen early so your best chance is to arrive at least 30-45 minutes before the ceremony. Then enjoy; take pictures, smile, chat with the Cast Members and most importantly have fun. You may be the lucky family, and if not you will still be able to enjoy your day at Magic Kingdom.
