If you had to choose a time in 2012 to go to WDW, on a school calendar, when would you go? 2 adults, 2 kids - girl age 7 and boy age 4 (3rd trip for both). We are from VT so don't mind the heat but prefer less crowded times, and less expensive. Thanks!

    HI Kelsey!

As a former Vermonter, I just have to say HI! We've relocated to South Carolina, but still miss the Green Mountains!

Since you want to stick with the school calendar year and don't mind the heat, my first recommendation is as late in August as you can plan to go. Many schools across the southeast have headed back to school on the second Monday of August. This means, with VT's typically later school start, you'll have a week or two of lower crowds. I personally love August, but we do switch our touring strategy around to spend more early mornings and late evenings in the parks and swim during the hottest part of the day!

My second choice would be February vacation. While most of New England does get a February break, quite a bit of the Southern states do not. You will experience some crowds, but you can plan around these.

Last, but not least, if you don't mind missing just a day or two of school, combining your Disney trip with the few days off in October on the school calendar is an excellent option. You'll have lower crowds, Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party AND the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival!

Hope this helps! Have fun planning!
