Hi! Choice between Animal Kingdom Lodge (savana view) or Wilderness Lodge (wood view). Preference? Convenience to parks? Pros & Cons. coming 1/20-1/24 with DH & DS6 and got a great deal via email- same price for both. Thanks!

    Lisa,

This is a tough choice!  These are two of my favorite Disney resorts (the third being the Beach Club) so I don't think you can go wrong either way.  However, here are my thoughts on each.

    Animal Kingdom Lodge

pros: Savannah View is amazing and your son especially would love it, the architecture is amazing, lots of great table service restaurants to choose from, exotic feel to the resort.

cons: Because it's 'Africa' it's secluded, meaning you have to take a bus everywhere.  Also the quick service restaurant here is just so-so in my opinion, and the pool is on the small side and rather unremarkable.

    Wilderness Lodge

pros: Again, amazing architecture, beautiful scenery, and cool 'extras' like Firerock Geyser, Flag Family, beach for fireworks viewing, electrical water pageant, etc.  They also have excellent restaurants and close proximity to the Magic Kingdom.

cons: Although it is close to the Magic Kingdom, you have to take a boat to get there which can be less than fun if it's very cold or raining.  The main lobby can be noisy because of the Whispering Canyon Cafe.

I really think that these are both great resorts, and you should base your decision on what themeing appeals to you and your family.  You really can't go wrong!

    Have a great vacation!
