My children's grandmother is a FL resident. She wants to purchase my kids Disney world tickets. She will not be going on the trip with us. Will that be an issue. She plans to send them to us. I will be using my military ticket.

Welcome to planDisney, Danielle! I’m happy to see that you have a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort in the works! Thanks for sending us your question.

I think it’s very nice of your children’s grandmother to gift them some theme park tickets. Here’s what she needs to do in order for your kids to be able to use them. Let her know that she can purchase Florida Resident theme park tickets online or in person for your kids. Then she has to activate them by showing her Proof of Florida Residency at any ticket window at the theme parks or the Disney Springs Guest Services location.

It’s important to note, the tickets will not be ready for use until they are activated. So, it’s super important for her to do this before she sends you the tickets. Otherwise, she can activate them with you when you arrive for your vacation. Once the tickets are activated, they can be used by your kids without a problem!

Danielle, as you continue to plan your magical visit, there are just a few new steps you need to take. After linking all of your theme park tickets to your My Disney Experience account, you will be ready to make your Disney Park Pass Reservations. You can check the availability calendar ahead of time, to make sure your desired dates are open, for the parks you would like to visit.

I hope this information is helpful. If you have any more questions, don’t hesitate to come back to see us. For tips from the planDisney family, you can also view our Panel Extras. We really enjoy helping you with all the details of your next magical visit!
