Our children are younger (4 and 1) so we don't plan on buying the park hopper pass. If we buy base tickets, and did want to spend a couple of hours in Epcot on one day, but the rest of the day at MK, can we use two base tickets on that same day?

Hi Rob!  While using more than one day on a base ticket seems like a great way to see multiple parks in a single day without purchasing the Park Hopper option, it unfortunately won't work.  If you attempted to use your base ticket at a second park on the same day, the system would reject it, rather than taking an additional day off. Your base tickets will allow you to go in and out of the same park each day, but they won't allow you to visit multiple parks. To visit more than one of the Disney parks on the same day, you'll need to have the Park Hopper option on your multi-day base ticket.

If you want the flexibility of visiting more than one park per day, consider adding the Park Hopper option to your tickets. Even though I can be frugal and adding the Park Hopper makes the tickets more expensive, I always purchase Park Hopper tickets. I like to avoid long lines at the attractions, and when the park I'm visiting becomes crowded, I like being able to hop to a park with lower attendance. To me, that flexibility and the ability to avoid lines is priceless.
