    My children and i will be visiting AK in June. We have reservations for lunch at the Rain Forest Cafe at 12:45, will we have time to go on the safari ride before we have lunch? I was told it was a long walk from one end of the park to the other.

    If you arrive in the morning, you will certainly have time to go on the Kilimanjaro Safari ride before lunch, plus several other things.

    The Animal Kingdom Rainforest Cafe is located right at the main entrance to the park (do not be confused by the other Rainforest Cafe location in Downtown Disney). The walk from the main gate of the Animal Kingdom to the Safari is probably about 15 minutes away. This is far, but not disastrous. Let's say you wait for 30 minutes for the ride. (Probably typical in the early morning.) Then the ride itself is about 20 minutes long. If you got to the Animal Kingdom at a 9:00 a.m. opening time, now you're just after 10:00. Obviously this is plenty of time until lunch. My suggestion is that you explore other areas of the Animal Kingdom for a few hours. Take a ride with the Yeti on Expedition Everest. Or see the Nemo or Lion King shows. There are both high energy fun for kids and adults. Then you'll be ready for your yummy Rainforest lunch.
