My children are picky eaters, can they go into the Biergarten and not eat if DH and I eat? Is the buffet the only option or could we do buffet for dh and I and order a la carte for kids? Thanks!

Hi, Penny!  I have had varying experiences with this, so I'll do my best to give you a good answer.  The short answer is that there is no a la carte menu to order from separately, so that is not an option.  I have been with a family that has stopped at a counter service location and brought in chicken nuggets and fries, and the restaurant has not admonished them for this option.  I also know of someone who was told that they would be charged for the buffet, because it is too difficult for a server to keep track of who is eating what at every table - especially at Biergarten, where you may be seated with other families.

I will say that even going with picky eaters, we've always found something everyone likes.  My kids will eat the macaroni and cheese offered at the buffet, as well as the small frankfurters.  There are plenty of desserts, some delicious breads, and my kids even ate the chicken.  You may find that your kids are more open to the food at the buffet because it looks somewhat familiar.  But they do still have the mac and cheese option.

If you think they won't enjoy anything, you might be better off opting for another location, but I'd probably book the Biergarten, and stop by prior to my reservation to see if the manager on duty has a problem with bringing in a kids' meal from another location.  You may get a better answer on the spot than I can give you now, because there is a variety of possible answers.

I hope this helps and doesn't add to any confusion!
