Ahoy, Samantha!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Planning a cruise is an exciting time, and we are so glad you stopped by to "sea" us with your question.
Passports for Guests of all ages are required for cruises that depart from a foreign port of call such as Vancouver or Barcelona, but only recommended for sailings that leave and return to the same U.S. port. Birth certificates, the original or a copy of the state-issued, can be used along with a government-issued photo ID (over 16 years of age only). Your young sailors have the option of showing a valid U.S. Passport, a valid U.S. Passport Card or their birth certificate if your sailing is departing and returning to the same U.S. port.
My advice is to read over the
Passport Information provided on the Disney Cruise Line website so you can make the best decision for your family. Passports are required for air travel from the
Bahamas and many of the
Caribbean ports of call so they do make a difference in the event of an unlikely emergency.
If we can help you further with your plans, please let us know! We are always happy to help.
Have a magical day!
Nancy
