We have 2 children 12 & 14. They love Thrill ride. we would love shows, fireworks and a show lunch. we are plannig to visit between the 24th of dec to the 26th. We are think 2 parks Magic Kingdom and one other. I do not now which other.

    Hey there, Taryn!

I'm absolutely delighted to welcome you to planDisney! How fun that you're planning a trip to visit the Most Magical Place on Earth during the holiday season...that's truly one of the best times to go! There's just something about Disney World that feels a little extra special during the most wonderful time of the year. The lights, the giant Christmas trees, the music, the treats...it all feels so warm and festive. It just might be my favorite time of the year to visit!

As a mom of two kids almost 16 and 12, I've got you covered! I love that you're planning to visit Magic Kingdom because it's truly the heart of Walt Disney World and the most iconic park of them all. My thrill-seeking boys are huge fans of TRON, and I have a feeling your kids will enjoy it, too! It's easily one of their top five attractions in all of Disney World. Other thrill rides at Magic Kingdom that are always a hit with them include Space Mountain and Tiana's Bayou Adventure. But trust me, they still enjoy the timeless classics like Pirates of the Caribbean just as much!

When it comes to shows, Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor is one my boys never skip. It's hilarious and interactive, making it a great break in between rides.

And since you'll be visiting during the holiday season, you just might get an extra sprinkle of pixie dust! You might have the opportunity to catch Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade during the day and Minnie's Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks at night. Details for this year's festivities haven't been announced yet, but definitely keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for details.

When it comes to choosing your second park, I went straight to the experts...my kids! Without hesitation, they both said Hollywood Studios. It's hands down their favorite of the four theme parks. They can't get enough of Tower of Terror, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, Rise of the Resistance, and Smugglers Run. They also love catching the Indiana Jones stunt show, which is packed with action and fun. And hear me out...the Frozen Sing-Along Celebration is a must-see for our family. It's absolutely hilarious and such a good time for all ages...don't skip it!

Now, even though they're team Hollywood Studios all the way, their favorite single attraction across all the parks is Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, located in EPCOT. They also really enjoy Test Track, which is another EPCOT highlight. But if they had to choose just one park to return to? They'd still pick Hollywood Studios every single time.

Taryn, I hope this helps you feel set up for an incredible trip with your family. If you have any other questions or would like more tips for traveling with teens and tweens, please feel free to reach out to me directly. I'm always happy to help make your Disney vacation as magical as possible!
