My 2 children were linked to a grandparents account who is no longer living. How do I get them to my Disney account?

Hello, Stephanie, and welcome to planDisney! I appreciate you stopping by and trusting us to answer your question. It looks like you'll be starting your adventure at Walt Disney World Resort tomorrow, so let's talk about managing your children's My Disney Experience accounts.

First, let me offer my sincere condolences on your family's loss. Grandparents are special friends, and I miss mine very much. If your kiddos spent time at the theme parks with them, I'm sure they made some lasting memories to treasure. My Disney memories with loved ones sparkle just a little brighter than others.

It sounds like the grandparent managed the children's accounts, so you have a couple of ways to proceed, depending on where you are in your travels. If you're already on Disney property, stop by the Guest Relations location near any theme park entrance. Be sure your My Disney Experience account is up to date, and have your photo ID handy.

Cast Members will need to verify the account currently managing the children, so any pertinent information you can share will be helpful. If you have the email, phone number, or address attached to the grandparent's account, the team can merge the accounts so you can take over managing your kids.

If you're not on property, feel free to call the My Disney Experience line to share the same information. They should be able to help merge the accounts remotely for you.

I hope you and your family make some new and magical memories on your visit. I recently handed out tiny Disney erasers to Cast Members and other guests as a fun surprise; your children could do something similar in honor of the grandparent. I was surprised at how touched people were by that small gesture. Pixie dust is real, Stephanie!

Thanks again for allowing planDisney to help you plan your vacation, and I hope we see ya real soon!

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
