My children have been given disney gift cards, are we able to use those to help pay for our trip? Or can they only be used in gift shops in the park? We live in Texas and this will be our first trip to Disney and hoping to be there for Christmas of 2015!

    Hello Melissa,

I'm so glad you stopped by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question!  Now, that's the kind of gift I'd love to receive!

There are very few restrictions when it comes to locations that accept Disney Gift Cards at Walt Disney World.  They can be used to help pay for your vacation package, at dining spots and at most merchandise locations, so there is a "World" of possibilities and the choice is up to you.  I'm a huge fan of Disney Gift Cards myself and use them on every trip I take.  As I have money in my budget during the year, I'll pick up a gift card here and there and then use those to help pay down the balance on our vacation package.  I also like to get each of my kids a Disney Gift Card before our trip that they can use as they want for spending money.  They get to decide what they want to buy (which they love!) and it's completely stress-free for me.

If you do decide to use the gift cards to help pay for your trip, you can either do that online or by calling (407) W-DISNEY (934-7639) and speaking with a Cast Member.

Wishing you pixie-dusted planning, Melissa!  Please stop back by to visit us again as you have other questions.
