My children will be 11,11, and 13 for our 1st cruise. My oldest has autism, so he doesn't do well around older kids. Do they ever allow 13 year olds to stay with siblings in the Oceaneer Club/Lab? Also, how can you take part in the pin trading night?

    Ahoy Sharon!

How excited is your family to be going on your very FIRST Disney cruise?  I cannot wait for you to experience all of the magic included when you sail the high seas!

The onboard youth clubs are what keep my pirates asking to cruise with Captain Mickey again and again.  I was worried this might change as my son started to become one of the "older" kids in the Oceaneer Lab.  I am happy to tell you that he now LOVES the tween club, Edge!

The youth clubs are age specific, so your thirteen year old will call Edge home during your cruise.  The good news is that Edge is designated for pirates eleven to fourteen years of age, so your younger children can join your oldest in this tween space and they can all stick together!

In between the great activities, games and parties in Edge, your pirate crew can trade pins with Crew Members onboard.  I have always found the onboard shops, like Mickey's Mainsail, to have large pin trading books for pirates looking for treasure.  There is typically at least one pin trading event scheduled during most sailings as well.  Check your Disney Cruise Line Navigator App for the time and location of this event during your cruise!

I am so excited for your adventure with Captain Mickey, Sharon!  If you have any additional questions before you set sail, cruise back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  We love to help you plan your epic vacation!  The Disney Cruise Line Special Services team is also able to help if you have any questions about services available onboard for guests with Autism so you can make this a dream adventure for your oldest as well!

I hope to "sea" you again real soon!  Angie
