Welcome aboard, Amy! It's almost time for your family to set sail! With only a few days left, you must have the suitcases out and the checklist ready!
Your children won't really need to carry their own Key To The World Cards, since they will need Mom or Dad to check them in and out of the Youth Clubs at their ages. When we sail with our kids, I carry their Key To The World Cards for them. But, they do love to wear their own Disney lanyards. Why? Pin Trading!
If you haven't heard of Pin Trading, let me tell you a bit about how it works. You can purchase different Disney pins in the
shops onboard the ship, back home at the Disney Store, online at
Disneystore.com, or at the Disney Parks if you're vacationing there prior to your cruise. There are even lanyard sets that come with a lanyard and four or so pins to start with. Then, kids (or adults) can trade pins with Cast Members onboard. My kids adore this activity, and have had some really great conversations with Cast Members, since it is a great way to strike up conversations. Quite often, the Cast Members outside Cabanas Buffet will be wearing pins to trade, and the Cast Members in the shops onboard always have lanyards with trading pins and even books full of pins to trade behind the desk. On your final night of the cruise, there is a really fun pin trading opportunity. Officer Pin Trading includes many of the ship's officers who are out to trade with guests. It is so much fun, and a great opportunity for families to get to chat with the officers while looking for those "must-have" pins. Check your Personal Navigator onboard for the time and location of Officer Pin Trading Night.
I hope those details help as you count down these last few days before you set sail, Amy! Have a magical cruise!
