Hi there, Jacqueline, and welcome to planDisney!
It sounds like you and your little one are gearing up for a magical adventure! I’m so glad you asked this question because it brings back sweet memories of when my boys were toddlers. We made a paper chain countdown and tore off one link each day. It made the anticipation almost as fun as the trip itself!
I’m happy to share that children under the age of 3 are considered Guests of Mickey Mouse and do not require a theme park ticket. And no, you won’t need to provide proof of age when you arrive at the park. Cast Members typically take your word for it, and in my experience, it’s rare for anyone to ask. When I brought my youngest to Walt Disney World at age two, I was once asked if he had a ticket, and a simple “Not yet!” was all that was needed. Not only do little ones under three get complimentary park admission, but they can also eat for free at all-you-care-to-enjoy dining locations when sharing from an adult’s plate. And let’s be honest... Toddlers love to nibble off mom and dad’s food anyway!
You’ll also find that Disney makes traveling with young children so much easier. Most Disney Resort hotels offer
complimentary cribs or pack-and-plays, so there’s no need to pack extra gear. If you’d rather not bring a stroller, you can
rent one at the parks or through ScooterBug, Disney’s Featured Provider. They’ll even coordinate directly with your resort for drop-off and pickup!
And one of my favorite tips for parents with little ones: don’t miss the
Baby Care Centers located in all four theme parks. They’re quiet, air-conditioned havens with changing tables, nursing rooms, toddler-size potties, and even small shops stocked with essentials like diapers, wipes, and formula. I always found them to be a lifesaver, especially during those hot and busy afternoons.
I hope you and your tiny Mouseketeer have the most magical time together! Those early trips are truly special. The look in their eyes when they spot Mickey for the first time is something you’ll never forget.
Wishing you pixie-dusted memories,
Eean
