My child will turn 3 while at WDW, when booking it only has the option of return age, making you pay for a child’s ticket (when it should be free). How do I book using the correct return age but without paying for a child’s ticket?

Hi Lucy and welcome to planDisney!

How exciting that you're planning a trip to Walt Disney World in 2026 and that you'll be celebrating your daughters 3rd birthday whilst you are there - it doesn't get much more magical than that! Be sure to stop by Guest Relations once you arrive to pick up a complimentary birthday badge for her to wear throughout your stay.

You are quite right in saying, Lucy, that when booking a Hotel and Ticket package directly with the Walt Disney Travel Company, from here in the UK, you must enter the age on return travel date for all children.

In contrast, when booking a Hotel & Ticket package via the US version of the Walt Disney World website, you must enter the age at time of travel for all children.

This inevitably increases the price when booking via the UK version of the Walt Disney World website as a Disney Magic Ticket is included for your little one who will be 2-years old at the time of travel but 3-years old on return travel date.

My only suggestion, Lucy, would be to contact the Walt Disney Travel Company to explain the situation and ask if there is anything that they can do. If not, another option might be to book your Hotel and Tickets separately.

I am sorry that I can't answer your question fully on this occasion, Lucy but, please don't hesitate to re-visit us, here at planDisney, if we can be of any further help with the planning of your trip.

Wishing you a magical holiday filled with memories which will last a lifetime!
