Ahoy, Andrea! Welcome to planDisney, and thanks for cruising by with your question!
Disney’s Oceaneer Club and
Oceaneer Lab are magical spaces onboard Disney Cruise Line ships created just for kids ages 3 to 10. These youth activity areas are the perfect place for little ones to play, explore, and make new friends while grown-ups enjoy some well-deserved time on their own. Even better? No reservations are needed! You can check your child in and out whenever it works best for your vacation plans. Operating hours are typically from 9:00 AM to midnight, though they may vary, especially on port days. You’ll want to check the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app once onboard for the most up-to-date schedule and a full list of activities. It’s your go-to guide at sea!
Security on Disney Cruise Line is a top priority. While all children can check themselves in, only those 8 years and older may leave the club independently, and only if you’ve given prior consent. Otherwise, a parent or authorized adult must be there to pick them up. Rest assured, your little sailor will be in safe hands!
Now, onto port days! Yes, you can absolutely leave your child in the Oceaneer Club while you disembark for an excursion. Be sure to speak with the youth counselors when you check your child in so they know how to reach you while you’re ashore. The clubs typically remain open during most port stops except for Disney Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. On those magical island days, your child can join in on the fun at Scuttle’s Cove or Sebastian’s Cove, Disney’s secure and supervised kids’ areas right on the beach, staffed by the same incredible Youth Activities Crew you’ll find onboard.
And one more tip: make sure the kiddos have had a bite to eat before you head out on your adventure. That way, they’re fueled up for all the fun!
Wishing you a smooth-sailing voyage filled with memory-making magic, Andrea! "Sea" ya real soon!
