We have a child to small to ride the rise of Resistance. I was checking the rider switch and it is not on the list. We have two other kids that are tall enough to ride it. Will we need to try to make two reservations for the ride or will we just miss out?

    Hey there, Leslie!

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is an absolute MUST for our family. It actually might be my husband's very favorite ride. We do have one little one who is too small to ride, so I am in almost the same situation as you are.

While I am not sure why the Rider Switch Service list has not been updated to include Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, I can absolutely assure you that they participate in Rider Switch. In fact, I used it earlier this month!

Each person in your party that is planning on riding will need to be listed in your Boarding Group. As a reminder, you get a Boarding Group through the My Disney Experience Mobile App at 7:00 am the morning of your visit. To stand the best chance of getting a Boarding Group, I recommend that you are in an area of great cell phone signal, off of wi-fi, and have all apps on your phone closed before logging into your My Disney Experience Mobile App a few minutes before 7:00 am. If you do not score a Boarding Group on the first go, additional Boarding Groups are released at 1:00 pm.

Once your Boarding Group is called, simply head to the entrance of the ride with your entire party, the littlest ones included, and tell the Cast Member that you will want to set up Rider Switch. They will then direct you to a different Cast Member who will set it up. When the first group exits the ride, the second group will return and advise the Cast Members that they have Rider Switch and they will be directed through the expedited line. Since you can have two additional people on your Rider Switch return, your oldest kiddos should be able to ride twice!

I hope that this helped, Leslie! We here at planDisney are experienced with all things Walt Disney World Resort, so please come back with any additional questions!

    See you real soon!
