Can my child play on the playground at the Polynesian Village Resort if we are not staying there?

Hi there Katherine, welcome back to planDisney!

Traveling to Walt Disney World Resort is a magical adventure with so many new things to see and experience no matter what time of the year you are visiting. I remember visiting EPCOT's International Flower and Garden Festival for the first time with my young daughters and while there were so many things I wanted to see, they were most excited to play on one of the Festival's temporary playgrounds. Playgrounds were the theme of that trip, they wanted to stop and play at every play structure we saw. They were so happy to play so we rolled with it and had a fun time discovering the many playgrounds of Walt Disney World Resort!

To answer your question, your child can play on the playground at a Resort even if you are not Guests there. Unfortunately, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort does not offer a playground but you can find a list of resorts with playgrounds here.  Many of the Walt Disney World Resort hotels are home to playgrounds featuring textured and soft surfaces, slides, swings, and tunnels which are perfect for kids from 2-12 years of age (adult supervision is required).

I love resort hopping as it lets me experience the theming, decor, and dining of the various Disney Resorts Collection hotels. I especially enjoy visiting other resorts during the many different holiday seasons so I can see all of the decorations! When traveling to visit another resort, I recommend using Disney transportation whether it is by bus, Disney Skyliner, Disney Monorail, foot, or even by boat with Walt Disney World Water Transportation. Parking is available at resorts but only if you are visiting for a dining reservation. You can travel to a Disney Theme Park and then from there, you can transfer to another resort while using Disney transportation.

One thing to remember: only registered Guests are allowed to swim in the pools of their respective Resorts.

Katherine, I hope this information is helpful to your vacation planning. If you have any further questions, please come back to planDisney, we're happy to help!

    See ya real soon,
    Candace
