I have been reading about Aulani and was thinking about visiting. I don’t think I need to be a DVC member to stay, but I do want to be sure. Can we book guided tours or similar? Also, what are some of the activities that are available at no extra charge?

    Aloha Lindsay!

Thanks for bringing your question about Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa to planDisney today. I love to help Guests with their vacation planning and it's so nice to talk to a fellow Canadian who is looking to travel to the island of Oʻahu and experience a tropical paradise with a touch of Disney!

My family visited Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa a year ago and we dream about going back to the Disney Vacation Club Resort. The incredible lagoons and beaches of Ko Olina are a gorgeous setting for Aulani Resort with its Contemporary Hawaiian art and design found throughout the resort, sprawling Waikolohe Valley pool area and so much more! While Aulani Resort is a Disney Vacation Club Resort, you do not need to be a Disney Vacation Club Member to book a reservation and enjoy the resort; there is so much included with your stay.  Guests can book a stay with Aulani Resort directly through the website or you can phone and speak with a Cast Member. I recommend checking the website for Special offers and packages as there are often some available.

All of the resort activities are available to all Resort Guests and Lindsay, there is so much to do (and most activities are complimentary)! You can download the Aulani Resort Mobile app which will allow you to search for daily activities, manage reservation details, access Online check-in, and find places of interest. This is also where you'll find the Daily 'Iwa Activity Calendar - it's the best way to know what's happening around the resort and when. It will list when and where you can meet Characters, feed the fish at Rainbow Reef (a paid activity), and if there are beach activities you might like to partake in with your family just to name a few things. My family really enjoyed the complimentary Arts and Culture walking tour where we learned about Māka‘ika‘i, The Art of Aulani Resort, it was fascinating learning about how much meaning there is in the tiniest of details around the Resort.

Tip: While you’re visiting Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa, be sure to visit the Pau Hana Room - Community Hall. This game room has many activities, amenities, and amusement to suit Guests of all ages! This is also the place where you can register for daily activities (subject to change) such as the Menehune Adventure Trail (my family loved completing this at night as it has an extra bit of magic in the dark), make your own Aulani-inspired Mickey Ears, ‘ukulele lessons and Kāpala Ki'i - a t-shirt stamping activity.

Lindsay, I hope this information is helpful to your information-gathering about Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa. If you have further questions, please don't hesitate to visit us at planDisney, we are here to help!

    Mahalo for stopping by,
