if you child is only going to edge, do you need an oceaneer band

    Ahoy, Francine!

Thank you for sailing over to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! You must be counting down the days until your family is soaking in all the magic Disney has to offer on the high seas. I hope it won't be too much longer until your crew is waving "Bon Voyage" for an enchanted vacation with Disney Cruise Line.

Francine, you've asked a great question about the Oceaneer Bands used onboard. These bands, which are similar to the MagicBands used at the Walt Disney World Resort, are only for sailors ages 3-12 who are registered for the Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab. If your child will be hanging out in Edge (ages 11-14), a sticker will be placed on his/her "Key to the World" card. This sticker will signify that they are signed up and can enter the space during secured programming. Once onboard, you'll want to stop by Edge to check-in with the youth counselors and get the sticker. This is also a great time to ask questions and take pictures of the space since it's open to all Guests during the first afternoon. Both of my children have enjoyed this space on our past cruises so I hope your son or daughter will have a blast participating in the fun activities, making new friends and getting to know the coolest counselors on the high seas!

It was a pleasure assisting you, Francine. Please write back if you think of any other questions. We are always happy to help.
