Is my child still considered 2 for the length of our trip if she is 2 at check in and first park day if we are staying at a good neighbor hotel?

Hello Haley! Welcome back to planDisney!

Your daughter is going to be so mesmerized by all the magic in front of her when she steps inside Walt Disney World Resort! My favorite age to take my children has been right around this time, as they really start to take in the characters, the attractions and the beauty and wonder of the Parks.  My last little baby will be three in just a few months, and while he's visited the Resort before, I HAVE to get him back there real soon!

Haley, you'll be happy to know that since your daughter is under the age of three at your time of travel and check-in she will be considered that age for the length of your stay.  This means that she does not need a Theme Park Ticket or Theme Park Reservation to enter the Parks during your visit.  She will, however, need to be included in any reservations made at dining locations.  All Guests, regardless of age, are added to the number of members of your party for dining reservations.

If you plan on celebrating a birthday breakfast or dinner, I definitely suggest a character dining experience like Chef Mickey's or the Garden Grill Restaurant.  Your daughter is sure to love seeing some of her favorite character pals, and you'll get the benefit of her still eating for free at buffet and family-style restaurants such as these.  Plus, the food at both locations is AMAZING!

Enjoy taking your daughter on her celebration trip, and make sure to stop by any Guest Relations desk to pick up a "Happy Birthday" button for her to wear around the Parks while you celebrate her and your magical vacation.

Meet the Panelist: Ashley, Massachusetts

Hi All, I'm Ashley! From the very beginning Walt Disney World Resort has always been a part of my life. As a child I excitedly helped to plan family trips, as a young adult I planned our "happily ever after" right on Disney property, and now I'm lucky enough to plan magical vacations for my three incredible children. When we're not taking in the enchanting experiences of the parks, we're home in Massachusetts, probably planning our next trip! Learn More About Ashley
