My child has autism and can only eat certain kinds of foods. My daughter also has special food needs. Will I be able to bring small portions of food that they can eat? They will not eat regular food and I do not want them to go hungry all day.

    Hi Sonia,

What a great question! You absolutely can bring in food for your children. Disney does not place a restriction on allowing food into the parks. My family usually brings water and snacks with us. We also used to bring sandwiches for our daughters when they were little because we want them not to go hungry.

I will say as a parent of a child with food allergies, Disney does a great job making my daughter feel comfortable dining at any restaurant. If you are booking a dining reservation, you can note your children's needs. The chef will then personally come to the table to talk to your child about his or her meal. I think this is cool.

If you are at a counter service restaurant, you can ask a cast member for a list of ingredients and ask for a chef as well.

You can reach out to the team who can answer questions about dining with special diets at specialdiets@disneyworld.com and they can answer questions as well.

Finally, if you can not bring the food from home due to traveling, the Garden Grocer might be able to feel your needs. This online grocery store has many items you would find at home and delivery to any Disney Resort and other Orlando locations.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
