Hi there, Marlene!
Thanks for bringing this great question to
planDisney. A school trip to the Happiest Place on Earth sounds like a dream come true! Your daughter has so much magic ahead of her!
Sending her to the
Disneyland Resort with a
Disney Gift Card is a wonderful idea. In fact, that is exactly what I did last month when my teenage son visited the Disneyland Resort with a friend and his family. He doesn’t have a credit card in his name and I didn’t want him to worry about managing a large amount of cash while he explored the park, so a gift card was the perfect solution. Disney Gift Cards can be used to purchase almost everything at the resort, including food, beverages, and merchandise at the theme parks and the
Disneyland Resort Hotels. Please note that several of the restaurants and shops in the
Downtown Disney District are owned by third-party companies, so they don’t accept the Disney Gift Card. However, she can pay with a Disney Gift Card at Downtown Disney District locations that are owned by Disney, such as Disney Home, Marceline's Confectionery, and
World of Disney, to name a few.
I recommend creating an account at
disneygiftcard.com and registering the gift card you plan to give your child. This gives you the ability to transfer additional funds onto the card if need be, and it’s also a smart way to protect your money in case the card is misplaced because it gives you the ability to move the funds to another card.
I hope this is helpful, Marlene, and that your daughter has a perfectly pixie-dusted day in the parks! Please write back with any other questions you may have as she prepares for her visit.
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
