Hi Heather, welcome to planDisney!
It's exciting to see you'll be arriving at the
Disneyland Resort this summer, just in time for
Pixar Fest (now through August 4)! Thanks for submitting your question, I'm happy to share more about ticket purchase and usage for theme park entry.
A theme park ticket (or
Magic Key pass) and reservation are required for daily admission to
Disneyland Park and
Disney California Adventure Park. Our littlest guests, ages two and under have free entry to the parks for standard admission and special ticketed events. For standard daily admission, guests ages 3 - 9 would require a child's ticket. Children's tickets for standard entry are typically priced slightly lower than adult tickets. However, for
special ticketed events and Magic Key passes, guests ages 3 and up will require the same ticket. There are no ticket downgrades, so yes, a child can technically use an adult ticket for entry if it is wholly unused and can also be assigned ahead of time to the child by contacting Guest Relations. However, an adult cannot use a child's ticket and would need to upgrade that ticket.
With all the
magic happening this summer and fall, you won't want to miss an opportunity for fun with the kiddos. Some of our favorite Pixar Pals can be seen
celebrating friendship and beyond across both parks, along with daytime and nighttime entertainment. I'm most excited about the
snacks and limited-time merchandise, then ending the day with nighttime spectaculars like
Fantasmic! or
Together Forever - A Nighttime Pixar Spectacular. I hope this helps you plan your upcoming visit, Heather! With so many things to do, see, and experience, there's always something for everyone at the Happiest Place on Earth!
Wishing you safe travels and a magical visit! If you have any other questions, feel free to
message us again!Camille
