Hi Ashley! I am so happy you stopped by with this great question.
Character dining experiences are an absolute must-do for my family. In fact, dinner at
Chef Mickey's is a tradition for us on our arrival night. My little ones don't quite have the energy to hit the park after traveling all day but they can't wait to see their favorite pals. Dinner at Chef Mickey's is the perfect compromise!
Ashley, while you are correct that Chef Mickey's has transitioned from buffet to family-style, at this time Mickey Mouse and friends are not able to make appearances. Do not worry if you were hoping to nosh with some of your favorite characters because I have some fantastic options for you.
At
Garden Grill Restaurant you can still see Farmer Mickey, Pluto, Chip, and Dale, however, please note that while you will be able to get some adorable selfies, the characters will be social distancing, so they will not be able to sign autographs. If your little ones love collecting autographs, like mine do, they will be thrilled to find a little surprise waiting for them at the end of the meal.
Ashley, have you had the chance to experience Breakfast à la Art at
Topolino's Terrace located on the top floor of Disney's Riviera Resort? Here you can dine with Minnie, Mickey, Daisy, and Donald as they vacation on the Riveria. These costumes are some of my favorites and the mood is positively festive as the Fab 4 go promenading throughout the restaurant. I recommend that you reserve this breakfast on your Hollywood Studios day and simply hop on the
Disney Skyliner to start your day at the park.
I hope that this helped, Ashley. Please come back here to planDisney if we can help answer any other questions for your upcoming vacation.
I just know you will have the most magical time.
