Hi Gisela, and welcome to planDisney! I’m excited to hear that you’ll be staying at the
BoardWalk Inn in just a few weeks.
BoardWalk Villas is one of my
Disney Vacation Club home resorts, so it truly feels like home. I just love the energy of the
Surrey bikes and street performers on the
boardwalk, as well as the many restaurants and lounges. Some of my favorites are
Flying Fish (for delicious seafood) and
AbracadaBar (this magician-themed lounge is such a cool space!).
Now, let’s talk about getting a rocking chair for your room. I spoke to two different Cast Members just to be sure, but they confirmed that rocking chairs aren’t a standard room amenity offered at Disney Resort hotels. However, they suggested you could still check with the front desk when you get there, just in case. As an alternative, you might look into the third-party companies in the Orlando area that rent rocking or nursing chairs and also offer delivery services.
If a rocking chair in a public area would still be helpful, there are usually wicker rocking chairs on the balcony just outside of the BoardWalk Inn lobby (on the side with the boardwalk and Crescent Lake). Although it’s a high-traffic area, I find it to be a very relaxing spot!
The BoardWalk is such a great place to stay in September since the
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival is going on just steps from your resort hotel. I’ve been looking at the
Disney Parks Blog festival foodie guide and previewing all the snacks I want to try when I’m there later this fall. Also, don’t forget to check who will be performing at the
Eat to the Beat Concert Series during your visit.
I hope you have a magical stay at the BoardWalk later this month! And if you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to visit us again at planDisney.
