Hi! I was just checking the MagicBand section of my Disney Experience and it says that we still have active ones from our 2018 trip. We are heading to WDW again in 2020 - will we get new MagicBands? And should we deactivate the previous ones? Thanks!

Hello there, Emma! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thanks so much for taking the time to reach out and allowing us to help you plan your Walt Disney World Resort vacation!

Placing my family's MagicBand order is one of my favorite ways to get excited for our upcoming trips to Walt Disney World Resort! This process always puts me in a magical mood and gets me in the vacation mindset before we even make it to Orlando!

That being said, my family has an enormous MagicBand collection from all of the times we've visited Walt Disney World Resort over the years! So, I am happy to report that you and your family will most certainly be able to order new MagicBands for your 2020 trip! This is also a great time to let you know that the MagicBand selection has recently received an upgrade and Guests can now purchase upgraded MagicBands for a reduced price. Selection may vary but there are so many fun designs to choose from! During my family's most recent vacation, I was able to purchase beautifully designed MagicBand that featured Cinderella's Castle! Be sure to put aside time for the family to review which options are available for your upcoming trip!

There is also no need for you to deactivate your old MagicBands, either. Your new MagicBands will function without deactivating the prior ones and should show up on your My Disney Experience account shortly after they are activated.

Hopefully, this information will assist you as you continue to plan for your 2020 vacation to Walt Disney World Resort!
