I am checking into my Disney resort on a Saturday, but will be staying in Orlando area, off resort, for a few days before checking into the resort. I have park tickets for those days. Can I use my dining plan before I actually check in to the resort?

    Hi Kristen!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I'm so excited to hEAR you have an upcoming vacation planned to Walt Disney World Resort!

Dining plans are a great way to experience several of the amazing restaurants at the Walt Disney World Resort while having the majority of your dining expenses paid for before your trip begins. Guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel are eligible to purchase a Disney dining plan. The meal and snack entitlements associated with your dining plan will be based on the length of your package stay. Unfortunately, your dining plan will not be activated until you check into your Disney Resort hotel. You will also have until midnight on the day of checkout to use any remaining meal and snack entitlements.

Guests may begin making dining reservations 180 days in advance by calling Disney Dining at (407) WDW-DINE or (407) 939-3463, by going online or via My Disney Experience mobile app.

I'm so sorry if this was not the news you were hoping to hear. Let us know if you have any new questions or would like dining recommendations, Kristen. We would love to assist you further in planning a magical trip!

    Bon Appétit,
    Jodie
