    I have been checking daily for reservations for Blue Buyou for our anniversary dinner on 12/2/2021. Finally, reservations were listed on the site for Disneyland dining but not for Blue Buyou. How do I make reservations?

    Welcome to planDisney! And welcome to the party for those of us who are struggling to secure a table at Blue Bayou Restaurant!

    Dining reservations at Disneyland Resort open up to 60 days in advance, but the phrase “up to” means they may release later than that. You did the right thing by checking daily. However, once the reservations are released, the Blue Bayou Restaurant normally books very quickly. The restaurant itself isn’t that large, seating is currently very limited, and the demand right is high. The restaurant is open, and it is accepting reservations, but it is just booked solid. I was hoping to score a table for my family over the Thanksgiving weekend and was checking multiple times a day, waiting for the reservations to open up. When they finally opened, it was late on a weekday, and this Indiana resident was already asleep. By the time I woke up and checked the availability, just 4 hours later, the restaurant was full.

    I have a few suggestions and ideas for you, Denise. First, keep checking back. Especially in the days leading up to your visit, another Guest may cancel. In case you aren’t able to secure a table at Blue Bayou Restaurant, book a backup option. If you are hoping for a little extra help, there are a few websites out there that frequently check for openings and can send you an email or text when a table opens. Some are complimentary and some have a charge. Now for Blue Bayou Restaurant, there are likely many others trying to book that reservation as well, and getting those same alerts, so there are no guarantees, but once you get an alert, you can head to the Disneyland Mobile App and try to snag the reservation. I have used a site called MouseDining with success for other dining locations, and I do currently have an alert set up for my Thanksgiving trip. It is always worth a try!
