    Hi Moms...checking into Animal Kingdom Lodge 1/30 for 8 nights, if I leave a credit card on deposit for incidentals, how much will they pre-auth my credit card for? Is it a certain amount per night? Thanks!

    Hi Susan!

    At check-in time, you'll have the option to link your Credit Card to your room key (also known as a 'Key to the World' card). Your room key can then be used as payment throughout the Walt Disney World resort. No holds are placed on your credit card at this time. This is also an optional service - you can decline if you are not interested.

    If you decide use the room charge service, you should note that the amount you will be able to charge to your room is dependent on the resort category you have booked. It is a set amount regardless of the number of nights you are staying. Currently for deluxe resorts, including Animal Kingdom Lodge, the limit is $1500.

    Once you have reached the charging limit, you can ask the Cast Members at the front desk to charge your credit card (or you can apply a cash payment, if you prefer). After payment is received, your account will reset, and you can continue to charge to your room key. If you do not reach your limit of $1500 during your stay, the amount of your room charges will automatically be billed to your credit card on the morning you check out.

    Also, after check out, you will be able to use your room key as payment until midnight. Therefore, you may see a second charge to your credit card reflecting those purchases.

    If you have declined to leave your credit card on file, you will not be able to use the Express Checkout feature and will be required to stop by the Front Desk on the morning of your departure day to clear your account and pay for any incidentals (phone calls, etc).
