Can we check luggage on the ship that was not checked luggage on our plane? We are flying with an "independent" airline and do not want to pay their luggage fees.

    Ahoy Brittany!
April is just around the corner, and soon you will be enjoying all that Disney has to offer on the high seas!  I hope you are ready for fun, excitement, wonder, and a sprinkling of pixie dust when you set sail!
Luggage can be checked either with the Disney Cruise Line ground transportation at the Miami Airport or at the curb at the cruise terminal.  Your bags will need to be tagged with luggage tags that you will receive in the mail a few weeks before you set sail.  You can place these on your bags before leaving home or wait until you claim them at the airport. If you are using Disney Cruise Line transportation, you will not have to worry about your bags after they are put on the bus or shuttle.  The porters will take them when you arrive and you will see them later that afternoon outside of your stateroom.  Be sure to keep a carry-on with any items you might need the first afternoon.  I like to pack bathing suits and sunscreen just in case we want to hit the pool after boarding.  Your stateroom will be ready at 1:30pm, and bags are usually delivered no later than 5:00pm.
I hope my answer helps with your planning, Brittany!  If you have any other questions, please let me know!
    Have a magical day!
