Can I check into Disneyland grand hotel without a park ticket?

    Hi, Nick!

Welcome to planDisney. I am glad you asked about one of my favorite hotels, Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa! With its Craftsman-style decor and cozy lobby (check out the fireplace!), I love spending time there.

I have good news! Guests do not need theme park tickets to stay at the Grand Californian. In fact, I often recommend hotel-only stays at any of the hotels at Disneyland. With fantastic pools, delicious restaurants, and various activities, there is plenty to do at any of the hotels.

Grand Californian has three pools: Fountain Pool, Redwood Pool, and Mariposa Pool. The Redwood Pool includes a 90-foot-long waterslide that curves around a Redwood tree stump. It is a lot of fun! A cute, Mickey Mouse-shaped Children's Pool is also close by, perfect for young kids. You may want to consider renting a private poolside cabana if spending a day at the pool. They typically include lounge chairs and other furniture, plus a mini fridge, LCD television, complimentary fruit platter, and more. A cabana server is also available most of the time to take your food and beverage orders. Information on reserving a cabana can be found on the Poolside Rentals page

After spending the day at the pool, I suggest trying one of the Grand Californian's incredible restaurants. Napa Rose offers an upscale dining experience featuring California cuisine and an extensive wine list. On the other hand, Storytellers Cafe offers a more casual experience with an expansive all-you-care-to-enjoy dinner buffet. Oh, and I cannot forget about GCH Craftsman Grill, one of my favorite lunch spots! Nearby, the Downtown Disney District offers additional food and shopping options. Dining reservations can be made up to 60 days on the Disneyland website or the Disneyland app.

If relaxing in a spa is more your style, check out Tenaya Stone Spa. From massages to facials, it is the perfect place for some pampering. Basically, there are plenty of activities to do at the Grand Californian without entering a theme park!

Nick, enjoy your stay at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa! We hope to see you real soon!
