Hi there, Kevin!
Welcome back to planDisney. I am so excited that you are visiting Disneyland Resort for the first time! It is truly "The Happiest Place on Earth!"
I have a Magic Key pass (which is like an annual pass), and I usually make Room-Only reservations. A deposit is needed for Room-Only reservations, which typically equals the price of one night of your stay. The remaining balance is generally paid when you arrive at your hotel. To determine your exact costs and deposit amount, I suggest logging into your MyDisney account on the
Disneyland Resort website and go through the process of booking a room. You can always exit out of the page before completing your purchase.
My family adores the
Disneyland Hotel. It is the perfect hotel for a first trip to Disneyland Resort! Wandering the halls to find nostalgic photos of Disneyland and sliding down the Monorail-themed waterslides are some of my most favorite ways to spend an afternoon. There are also fantastic food choices! My kids love the Character Dining experience at
Goofy's Kitchen, and
Tangaroa Terrace Tropical Bar & Grill has delicious breakfast, which is sometimes available by
mobile ordering on the
Disneyland Resort app. Some Quick-Service restaurants allow Guests to mobile order food ahead of time. It is super easy and prevents kids (and moms!) from becoming "hangry!"
Kevin, have a wonderful trip to Disneyland Resort. Make sure to take lots of photos to capture your special vacation!
Magic Happens!
