Hi Helga,
Disney World has made great strides in ensuring that guests of all abilities are well taken care of. I recommend checking out their updated website and the
Accessibility Planning Guide to explore the services that best meet your needs. The
Disability Access Service (DAS) is specifically designed for guests who, due to a disability, cannot wait in line for long periods. This includes individuals with developmental disabilities, such as autism or similar conditions. To determine eligibility, you must schedule a live video chat with a cast member before your visit. You can initiate this process up to 30 days in advance by logging into your MyDisney account and selecting "Request Live Video Chat" on the registration page.
If you were approved for DAS after May 20, 2024, your DAS pass will be valid for up to 120 days or the length of your ticket. The program will default to whichever of these two criteria is shorter. This makes it much easier for Disney Annual Passholders because they no longer have to renew their DAS approval every 30 days. If you got approval with a date-based theme park ticket then you will likely need to go through the approval process again.
An easy way to check and see if you still have DAS is to go into your
My Disney Experience app and click the three stacked lines in the bottom right corner. If you have a "Disability Access Service" tile, then there is a chance your status is still valid, and you can book return times with it. To ensure that your status is valid before you arrive, I recommend emailing disability.services@disneyparks.com. They will be able to give you additional details about your DAS pass, including the dates of approval and expiration.
Happy Planning,
Jenna
