Hey there, hi there, Danielle! Thank you for your question.
I like to start out my Walt Disney World vacations knowing I have all of my Donald Ducks in a row, so I totally get why this question is important to you. It can add some frustration right at the start of your trip to have a little hiccup right at the entrance to the park.
Although there isn't a way to check the battery life in the Disney MagicBands without scanning them in, I can tell you that they generally have about two years before the battery dies. If your last trip was within that time frame, you may be in luck.
If you're outside that two-year mark, not to worry. We've got options.
The brand new
Disney MagicBand+ has the ability to be recharged, which I think is an awesome feature. Once you fall in love with a style, you know it'll be yours for future trips without having to worry about the battery life. I also love the haptic vibrations and the LED lights on the new MagicBand+. The interactive nature adds a whole new level of fun we didn't have with the older MagicBands.
Another option is to use
Disney MagicMobile Service. This works a lot like the MagicBand, except everything is done right on your smartphone. You can open resort room doors, scan into the theme parks, and charge things to your account.
Danielle, I hope one of these options works for you.
Have a magical moment filled vacation!
Anna
