Jambo, Megan! Welcome to planDisney! You're in for a ROARING good time staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge. The ambiance is one of my favorites of the Disney Resorts. Nothing beats waking up with a cup of coffee, watching the animals freely roam along the savanna.
Because you're staying at a Disney Resort hotel, you'll be able to make your
advanced dining reservations for the entire length of your stay (up to a 10 night stay) 60 days prior to your arrival. I would recommend logging into your My Disney Experience account right before 6:00 a.m. EST for your best chance at securing those hard to get reservations. For popular dining experiences, such as
character dining, I would suggest reserving those first, and choosing a date towards the end of your stay.
If for some reason you're not able to lock in your first pick dining locations, don't fret! Keep checking back! I cannot tell you the amount of times I have snagged a coveted dining reservation just days before my arrival.
Because you're staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge, I would recommend making a reservation at
Boma or
Sanaa (the bread service is divine!). Both of these options offer delectable flavors that will for sure soothe the rumbly in your tummy.
Now, let's chat
Lightning Lane! Disney Resort Guests (that's you!) can purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass and/or Lightning Lane Single Pass 7 days before your visit. Again, I would log into your My Disney Experience account right before you can purchase at 7:00 a.m. EST.
You'll then be able to choose your experiences and arrival windows for the length of your stay (up to 14 days).
I hope this information helps, Megan. Before I go, I'd like to leave you with one last tip. Be sure to grab some Zebra Domes from
The Mara during your stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge. You'll thank me later!
Have a WILD time!
