So with them charging now for magic bands we want to keep reusing ours. If we have one from 3 years ago are we not able to use it ? I heard they only are good for 2 years? Thanks

    Hey there, Denise!

Personally, I love to reuse my MagicBands from my previous stays for all of my future vacations.

Denise, as your MagicBand ages, your battery will weaken. The average lifespan of a MagicBand battery is around 2 years. The battery in your MagicBand is used for things like capturing on-ride photographs; however, a battery is not needed when you are using your MagicBand just to enter the theme park.

So, in short, your MagicBand from 3 years ago will work, but you may not receive all of your ride photographs if the battery has started to weaken. I can speak from personal experience that I have one that is 3 years old and still works fine, but there is no way to know when yours was manufactured. If you are wanting to take advantage of all of the features, you may want to invest in a new MagicBand for at least one member of your party.

I hope that this answered your question, Denise. Please come back here to planDisney if we can help you plan your stay in the magic. See you real soon!
