Disney cruise? I know seeing that countdown on the app always gets me fired up and ready to set sail, so let’s dive into your question to help you prepare for your next sailing!
Currently, the Disney Cruise Line does restrict or prohibit power banks or portable chargers of any size. However, the cruise line does have the
right to seize and secure any item that may pose a safety risk, including power banks.
Another thing I want to caution about such a high capacity power bank is that if you plan to fly prior to or after your Disney cruise, you may want to check with your airline to see if they will permit you to carry this large of a power bank onboard. In looking at the product description and reviews of the power bank you mention, I see that the manufacturer states that it exceeds the TSA’s and most airlines’ carry-on limits for power banks. So while you may be okay with cruising with this device (and if not many departure ports will often store confiscated items for you to collect after your sailing), you may not be able to bring it with you on your flight!
Janis, if you’re concerned about charging and staying connected onboard, I recommend bringing a multi-USB charger and perhaps a smaller power bank that’s more airline friendly. Thankfully staterooms aboard Disney ships have plenty of outlets for you to charge your devices. I like to keep those devices charged overnight so that they’re fully powered otherwise when I wake up in the morning!
