do they still have characters that walk around the parks,or is the only way you can see them is at certain areas

Hi, Stephen!  The characters don't walk freely through the parks, but they do appear throughout the parks at various times.  There are specific meet and greet spots for the characters, and in some locations, like Character Connection at EPCOT, you can meet several popular characters all at the same time, so you only have to wait in one line to see a whole bunch of your favorites!

When you arrive at the theme parks, you can get an idea of when and where the characters will be by checking with the time schedule and your guide map.  Another excellent resource for tracking down your favorite character is the cast members.  They can help direct you to where you'll find the characters you are most hoping to meet.

    Have a wonderful vacation!
