Do any of the characters in Japan at Epcot speak Japanese? My daughter thinks she will be able to practice her Japanese when we go in August.

    Hi Ayanna,

What a great idea! The Cast members that are working within the shops and restaraunts in each of the World Showcase countries are from that specific country. Many of the Cast members are young adults and students at Disney World on a school exchange program. It is so interesting and fun to speak to them about their experiences here in America (many have never been before) and their lives in their homeland. Yes, they speak not only English but their native language, and I am sure they would love to converse with your daughter in Japenese.

A great place for her to stop and talk to these young ladies and men is the Kidstop area in Japan. The Kidstops are located in each country and provide Disney guests with the opportunity to create, and keep, a cool mask. At each country, there is a table where you can add a paper trinket that is a symbol from that land. There are Cast Members at each of these stops and they love to chat with the guests, teach you how to say your name in another language, stamp your Epcot passport or sign your autographs books and more.

Hope she has a great time!
