    Have a character dinner booked at Akershus...do most little girls where princess attire for dining? If so, what kind? Disney costumes like what you would buy for dress up or halloween or more elaborate Easter or pageant type dresses? My daughter is 2 1/12.

    Hi Leha,

    Many young girls will dress up for the princess character meals, but this is certainly not a requirement. I have three daughters. We've been to dozens of princess meals and my girls never chose to dress up, and never felt awkward at the restaurant.

    That being said, you will see that somewhere between 50-70% of the preschool and elementary age girls at a princess meal will be wearing a costume. The source of these costumes is variable. Some girls will be wearing the expensive dresses sold in the parks, some will wear Halloween costumes purchased at Target or Walmart, and some will have homemade dresses, either simple or elaborate. Truly, there is no requirement. You should do whatever makes sense for your budget and whatever makes you and your daughter most comfortable.
