We have a character breakfast at Ohana at the Polynesian and plan to spend the day at the Magic Kingdom. We are staying at a hotel off site and will be renting a car. What is the best idea for parking? Would we be able to park at MK and use monorail?

    Stephanie,

The direct answer is that yes, you can park at the Magic Kingdom and take the monorail to the Polynesian. However, there are two little surprises you may like to know.

First, you can actually walk from the Ticket and Transportation Center (which is where the Magic Kingdom parking lot trams drop you off for the monorail) to the Polynesian. It is right next door. You will save yourself a good 15 minutes, at least, by just walking over.

Second, and even better, is that you can park at the Polynesian resort since you are a guest of one of their restaurants. When you reach the gate into the Polynesian, just let them know you are dining there. Last time I did this while staying off-property I was able to just leave my car there in their lot. Saved me the day's parking charge.

But note that I did this some time ago. When you get to the entry gate for the Polynesian, ask them whether you can leave your car there, to be certain.
