Hi Lakeisha,
Taking a large group of students to Disney World is quite an undertaking. I recently went with my son's band for a trip to Orlando as a chaperone and it was quite different experiencing the theme parks through the eyes of a group of young people. I recommend coordinating with
Disney Imagination Campus to book your trip because they offer discounted tickets, planning tools, and recommendations for bringing a group of more than 10 students to Disney World.
Disney World's
current policy is that children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a guest age 14 or older to enter a theme park or water park. Once you enter the theme park, children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by a person aged 14 or older to board a ride. Disney World does not currently provide chaperones for trips and requires that you organize this on your own before arrival.
I would only plan on visiting one of Disney World's 4 theme parks each day of your visit because coordinating moving a large group of students from one theme park to the next can be stressful on the chaperones and makes keeping up with all of the kids much harder. I also recommend checking out some of the extra educational offerings available through Disney Imagination Campus. They have immersive programs that focus on
theme park design,
storytelling, and
technology. There are also opportunities for them to perform their artistic feats for guests at the theme parks.
They have programs that will appeal to all of your students and take their trip to the next level. As a teacher myself, I am excited to see the ways in which these programs encourage them to have fun in the theme parks while also reinforcing some of the valuable life skills and potential careers we present to them daily.
Happy Planning,
Jenna
