Hi, I am going to be a chaperone for the school I work at. The school will pay for my YES tickets, hotel room at the resort, park passes and meal plan. I want to bring my own kids on the trip. Do I need to pay for them to stay in the prepaid room with me?

Jenny, I'm so glad you stopped by the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Walt once wisely said, "Our greatest natural resource is the minds of our children." People typically think of Walt Disney World Resort as The Most Magical Place on Earth for families, but it's also the perfect field trip destination for students! My Moms Panel friend, Amy, and I recently participated in some Disney Youth Education Series classes, and I think you'll agree that they are the perfect blend of education and pixie dust. What educator wouldn't love teaching the Properties of Light using the Haunted Mansion as their inspiration!

I'm so glad you get to bring your own Mouseketeers with you for this unique experience. I spoke to a Walt Disney World Resort Reservations Agent today, and she said that at Disney Resort hotels, additional charges are only for adults over 18 years of age, so there would only be an extra per night fee if there are more than two adult Guests in your room. All of you will get to enjoy the perks of being Walt Disney World Resort hotel Guests, including Extra Magic Hours, MagicBands, and complimentary transportation to the theme parks.

Enjoy those magical teachable moments during your trip, Jenny! If you need any more advice before your trip, remember we're all EARs!

Meet the Panelist: Eean, Pennsylvania

Hi, I'm Eean from Pennsylvania! I may have an unusual name, but my passion for Disney is not unique. It's incredible how many people you can find who love talking about "The Most Magical Place On Earth!" I'm that mom who always has her ears perked at PTO meetings, in the grocery store aisle, or at my monthly Bunco club for an opportunity to give someone a planning tip to help make their vacation even more magical.
