Angie from NE Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

With all the changes that have occurred over the past few months, has park opening completely changed too? For example, in the past you could get in to Magic Kingdom before it was officially open to ride rides. Is that still allowed?

    Hi Angie!

Welcome back to planDisney! There are indeed many changes in the parks right now, but the magic is still alive, and ready to welcome you back to the Most Magical Place on Earth!

Before Covid-19, depending on expected crowds for the day, the theme parks would often allow Guests through the Mickey touchpoints at the entrance, prior to scheduled park opening. Once inside the park, Guests were usually held at another rope line until official park opening. Depending on the season and crowds, you would occasionally find that there was a little extra pixie dust in the air, and you were being let into the rest of the park early. You never knew when this would happen and this was completely unpublished. I have experienced both scenarios.

Currently, the answer will be the same, in that you never know what magic may happen early, or when you will be held outside the Mickey touchpoints until official park opening. Disney is taking many steps to ensure safe distancing and may alter opening plans based on what they feel is the best choice on any particular day. I would not count on being allowed into the parks early. But if arriving a little early will help you feel less rushed and stressed in the morning, then it may be the right choice for you, and maybe you’ll get a little magical bonus!

I hope this helps with your planning, Angie. Please let us know if you have additional questions we can help you with!
