Ahoy there, Mary Beth!
You must be so excited to set sail with
Disney Cruise Line! There’s nothing quite like that feeling of knowing a magical adventure awaits. And I get wanting to get the best deal possible, because more savings means more treats at Vanellope’s or maybe even a relaxing spa day at
Senses!
If a lower fare pops up after you’ve already booked, you may be able to take advantage of it, but it depends on the timing of your request. If you’re still before your paid-in-full date, you can
call Disney Cruise Line to cancel and rebook at the better rate. Just keep in mind that if your original reservation was made with a
Placeholder, you’d lose that 10% discount when you cancel and would need to factor that into your decision.
If you’ve already made final payment, things get a little trickier. At that point, canceling could result in penalties, depending on how close you are to your sail date. Sometimes the savings outweigh the fees, but it’s worth crunching the numbers first! The cancellation policies also vary depending on the length of your cruise and the type of fare you booked. These
Terms and Conditions are outlined on the DCL website. Restricted Guarantee (GTY) and Concierge level staterooms have their own set of rules, so be sure to check the terms before making any changes if you've booked these categories.
A friendly reminder: once a reservation is canceled, there’s no guarantee that your original stateroom or pricing will still be available if you decide to rebook. And if your reservation was under a special promotion, that offer may not be reinstated.
I hope you’re able to set sail with the best possible deal, Mary Beth! Wishing you smooth seas, magical memories, and plenty of pixie dust along the way. Let us know if you have any other questions. We’re always happy to help.
“Sea” ya real soon!
