Is there any chance that rainy days might scare people away and open up some prime dining locations? Wondering if it would be worth it to make some calls on the T-Stormy days... Thanks!

You're actually on to a good strategy. In my experience, the worse the weather, the more no-shows there will be for WDW dining reservations. Some folks will see the storm and call Disney Dining to cancel, but there will also be many that neither show up nor call to cancel.

I was at Epcot on a VERY rainy afternoon earlier this year. Even though it was a crowded school holiday week during prime lunch time, we could have walked into any restaurant in the World Showcase and be seated immediately. We ended up having a delicious warm meal at the Rose and Crown. There were hearty souls enjoying conversation at the bar and the other guests were very friendly as well. It turned out to be a memorable meal. So, if you don't mind getting a little (or a lot) wet, try to venture out. You may be pleasantly surprised that your options have expanded.
