Hi Jena,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I answered a question very similar to yours from another Guest wishing to experience both Halloween and Christmas at the Walt Disney World Resort. For someone who absolutely loves the holidays like I do, this would be a dream trip!
Last year the final day for
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party was November 1 and
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party kicked off on November 8. As soon as Halloween ends, Cast Members begin working their magic to dress up the theme parks for the holidays. One of my favorite videos on the Official YouTube Channel for Disney Parks is
Time-Lapse Video: Magic Kingdom Park Decorated for the Holidays, with a behind-the-magic look at how Magic Kingdom Park transitions from Halloween to the holidays. The remarkable transformation is done virtually overnight by a very talented group of Cast Members. It is amazing!
If you arrive Halloween weekend you should be able to experience some of the holiday decorations before you leave. I would suggest bookmarking the
Disney Parks Blog and keeping an eye on it for an announcement of this year's dates for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Parties and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Parties. The Disney Parks Blog announced the dates for both parties in May last year. I'm sure the 2014 dates will be announced around the same time, and should be close to last year's range.
Please be sure to send me any further questions about your next visit to Walt Disney World.
Have a magical day!
Bob
